Confirmation Retreat 2011
The students will meet at St. Matthew at 4:30pm The retreat fee of $tba and the permission slips need to be turned in by November 5th
Students will travel as a group by chartered bus (no personal cars allowed). We will return to St. Matthew to celebrate Mass at 4:00 pm. The retreat will end at 6:00 pm on Sunday.
Students will need to have supper before the retreat. They need to bring:
- Sleeping bag and pillow, or sheets and a blanket
- Clean casual or 'hang out' type clothing for 2 days
- Church clothes
- A snack or drinks to SHARE - all snacks will be turned in to share
- All necessary personal hygiene items like toothbrush, toothpaste, soap, etc.
- Towels, washcloth
- Musical instrument, if you play
Students many not bring**:
- Cell phones
- iPods, MP3 players
- Radios, electronic games
- Absolutely NO alcoholic beverages or illegal drugs
- No fireworks or weapons of any type
- No homework or other distraction
This Confirmationyear is very important. We are hoping that our students will learn to make Christian choices - like moving activities to be able to attend Sunday Mass or Wednesday night class. This is what Jesus asked and asks of his disciples who want to follow him. Confirmation students have to wrestle with this prioritizing every year just as an adult has to do in their own life.
